Why MGO

Six reasons builders are switching.

One panel, one trade, one inspection. The performance certified, the install fast, the chemistry clean.

Class A1 non-combustible.

Won't burn. Won't release smoke. The highest fire-reaction class under EN 13501-1.

Intertek certified · EN 13501-1

Won't swell or warp.

No water penetration on the back face. 0.26% deformation in moisture. Use it in bathrooms, exposed framing or rain-soaked decks.

CNS 13778 · GA 160

Stronger when wet.

22 MPa wet bending strength under load. Independent EN 12467 test confirms Category B Class 2 performance.

22 MPa wet · GB/T 7019

No chloride. No rust.

0.032% chloride content — magnesium-sulfate bound. Steel fasteners and framing stay corrosion-free for the life of the building.

Intertek · ASTM C871-18

Quiet underfoot.

≥ 44 dB single-panel sound insulation. Dense cementitious core dampens footfall without a topping slab.

GBJ 121-88 · ≥ 44 dB

Impact resistant.

Reinforced cementitious panel takes the knocks. No cracks, no strips under independent impact testing.

CNS 13778 · impact pass
Products

Four panels. Every surface.

Floors, external walls, internal linings, eaves — all the same non-combustible MGO core, all stocked at Silverdale.

Schedule certainty

One crew. One layer. One inspection.

Gypsum underlayment is a wet trade — a separate crew, a separate truck, days of drying, and a separate inspection window. MGO skips all four.

The framing crew scores, snaps and screws it down at end-of-day. The trade above starts the next morning.

How it goes down

Four steps. Done by lunch.

A two-person framing crew installs roughly 90 square metres of MGO flooring per hour.

Score & snap

Mark with a chalk line. Score once with a carbide knife. Snap over a straight edge. Cleaner than a saw, no dust mask.

Lay over the deck

Long-edge perpendicular to joists. Stagger end-joints 600mm minimum. 3mm expansion gap at walls and panel-to-panel.

Screw the field

32mm coarse-thread screws at 150mm centres on edges, 200mm in field. Set the head flush. No paste.

Walk away

No drying. No hold-down trades. The next layer — tile, carpet, timber — starts on top first thing in the morning.
